How to Create a Show-Stopping Dessert

I used this recipe to win a challenge on a popular Food Network competition. The simplicity and versatility of the ice cream impressed the judges, especially when I paired it with a homemade berry cobbler. The creamy, sweet ice cream with the warm, tangy cobbler created a perfect harmony of flavors and textures. This winning dessert not only showcased the ease of making ice cream at home but also highlighted how a few quality ingredients can create a show-stopping dish.

2-Ingredient Ice Cream (Serves 8-10)

INGREDIENTS:

1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
2 cups heavy cream
Optional: 2 tablespoons vanilla extract

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Place sweetened condensed milk in a medium bowl.
  2. Meanwhile, using a hand or stand mixer, whip heavy cream in a separate bowl until stiff peaks form.
  3. Gently fold cream into sweetened condensed milk, being careful not to over-mix. Add vanilla and fold until evenly distributed.
  4. Place in a freezer-safe container and gently cover with wax paper.
  5. Freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.
Tip: Feel free to change up the fruits in this ice cream. Try plums, strawberries, or blackberries. Give it an even more interesting twist with fresh herbs like mint or lavender.
