Lunchroom Lady Rolls

Servings: 12 – 24

INGREDIENTS:

• Warm Water: 1/4 cup
• Yeast: 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp)
• Sugar: 1/3 cup
• Milk: 1 cup, warmed
• Butter: 1/3 cup, melted
• Salt: 1 tsp
• Egg: 1, beaten
• Flour: 4 cups

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Activate Yeast:
• Combine warm water, yeast, and 1 tsp sugar in a bowl. Let sit 5 minutes until foamy.
2. Mix Dough:
• Add warm milk, melted butter, remaining sugar, salt, and egg to the yeast mixture.
• Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
3. Knead and Rise:
• Knead on a floured surface for 8 minutes.
• Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
4. Shape Rolls:
• Punch down dough and divide into 12-15 balls.
• Arrange on a greased baking sheet, cover, and let rise another 30 minutes.
5. Bake:
• Preheat oven to 375°F.
• Brush rolls with melted butter and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.
