Join the Mobile Jewish Film Festival and APT for a preview of the new Ken Burns documentary, THE U.S. AND THE HOLOCAUST, which broadcasts Sept. 18-20, 7:00-9:00 CST on Alabama Public Television. This event will feature a 40-minute reel of excerpts from the six-hour series. Dr. Alexandria Ruble (Spring Hill College) will provide commentary. L’Chaim

The Alabama Holocaust Education Center (AHEC) presents its annual fundraising event, L'Chaim, at 3pm on Sunday, September 18th at Red Mountain Theatre (RMT). As part of the afternoon program of remembrance, celebration and education, virtuoso violinist, Niv Ashkenazi, will perform using a Violin of Hope, one of a collection of masterfully-restored instruments survived in the Holocaust. Ashkenazi has made several Carnegie Hall and Kennedy Center appearances, and performed in Europe, the Middle East, and across North America.

Fiesta’s 20th Annual Festival: !Somos Familia! | Feels Like Family!

Fiesta, Alabama’s largest celebration of Hispanic culture and heritage, is pleased to announce its 20th annual festival to take place Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, from noon to 8 p.m. at Birmingham’s Linn Park. Tickets to Fiesta 2022 are $12 online, and $15 at the gate, children ages 12 and under are free. Music, dance, performing arts, visual arts, children’s activities, cultural education, authentic Latin food as well as community and health-related resources are all part of the event. This year, Fiesta is bringing back a favorite component, Lucha Libre, which will feature the Blue Demon from Mexico, Iguana hailing from Guatemala, and other famous Mexican professional wrestling acts. Event attendees are urged to buy tickets before the event at fiestabham.com. Donations to the Fiesta Scholarship Fund are encouraged at the event.
