The Age of Nature explores humanity’s relationship with nature and wildlife, as scientists and conservationists from all over the world find innovative ways to restore our planet. Filmed on seven continents, the three-part series presents creative ideas for dealing with such pressing issues as climate change, animal extinction, and environmental degradation. Each episode highlights some of the latest scientific research to help us understand the workings of the planet and explores effective strategies for restoring the environment, rewilding landscapes, and maintaining a balance between species.
Inspired by The Age of Nature, five PBS stations participated in an internship program that encouraged student interns to explore the strategies for conservation and restoration being used by organizations in their local communities. With support from their stations, nine high school students students documented their experiences and created culminating digital media projects. We hope you feel inspired by this student work to take on similar projects in your own communities.
