Broadcast Premiere Thursday, March 19 at 8PM

For the first time, a new season of Garden Party, Alabama Public Television’s original lifestyle YouTube series that celebrates the joys of Southern cooking and gardening, is coming to broadcast.

“We are so excited to finally bring Garden Party to our broadcast audience!” Garden Party Producer/Director Jess Lingle said. “It has been such a cool experience to expand this show—which began on Instagram as short 3-minute videos—to a full-blown lifestyle series.”

In the season 4 premiere, spring is in the air. From soil to seeds, Garden Party host Trace Barnett delivers step-by-step instructions and insightful tips to start your spring garden off right, ending with a fond family recipe steeped in Appalachian tradition.

Barnett, an Alabama homesteader, author, cook, and entertainer, shares gardening tips and beloved family recipes—often with a modern twist—straight from his home kitchen and family farm in north Alabama.

“I’m hoping viewers get a sense of what Trace is all about in this first episode,” Lingle said. “Trace is a charming, energetic and welcoming host with endless creative ideas in the garden and the kitchen. And [he] loves to elevate classic recipes all while honoring his Southern roots.”

From Instagram to YouTube to broadcast, this isn’t Garden Party’s first time on TV, but it is the first time a full season of the show will be premiering exclusively on broadcast, with episode segments publishing on APT’s YouTube channel.

This season will see Barnett leaving the homestead to travel across the state and showcase iconic Southern traditions, culture and cuisine, providing a fresh perspective on the Alabama lifestyle.

Whether you’re a budding gardener or a seasoned home cook, Lingle says there is something for everyone.
