Try free samples prepared by the BBQ competitors and get tickets to a full meal featuring barbecue and trimmings with your support of APT. We'll also have PBS Kids characters and educational activities for children.

THE COMPETITION & QUALIFYING EVENTS
The Great Alabama Barbecue Cook-off will be a three-meat contest featuring Ribs, Chicken and Pork. Sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society and the Alabama Barbecue Association. Qualifying events will take place in September in Guntersville, Glencoe and Clanton.

September 12, 2025: "Battle of the Bones" (Ribs Category Qualifier) at SMOKE ON THE WATER, Guntersville.

September 13, 2025: "Lakeside Pork Fest" (Pork Category Qualifier) at SMOKE ON THE WATER, Guntersville.

September 20, 2025: "Don't Burn the Brisket" (Brisket Category Qualifier -) at SMOKE IN THE PARK, Glencoe.

September 28, 2025: "Friday Night Chicken Fight" (Chicken Category Qualifier) at CENTRAL ALABAMA BBQ FESTIVAL, Clanton.

The top 15 teams in each qualifying event will receive discounted registration for The Great Alabama BBQ Cook-off Championship on October 26.  Public registration for the championship will be October 1 – 15.
