Federal funding for public media has been eliminated. But Alabama Public Television remains committed to the educational mission we were founded on 70 years ago. Help us preserve the programs you love with a new or additional gift!
One of the first shows in our pledge schedule this year is The Quilting Women of Gee's Bend (Saturday at 2:00pm). This program was tremendously popular in June and it's been one of the most-streamed programs by APT viewers in the two month's since. Other Saturday highlights include The Texas Tenors: Faith & Inspiration and Johnny Cash: We Walk the Line, a star-studded celebration of The Man in Black.
Beginning on Sunday we're excited to bring you Jane Austen's classic Pride and Prejudice featuring Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth in the leading roles. Episodes 1-4 will air this Sunday with the remaining two episodes the following Sunday night. Episodes will also air Monday - Wednesday beginning at 3:00pm each day.
In preparation for Ken Burns' newest epic series scheduled in November, tune if for The American Revolution: An Inside Look premiering Sunday at 1:30pm and airing several other times in the coming week. The one-hour special provides a tantalizing look at the 12-hour series about the revolution which radically reshaped the continent and inspired centuries of democratic movements around the globe.
Other new specials this week include Walking with Dinosaurs: A Viewers Guide and the Great American Recipe Grand Finale!
