Initially reluctant to team up with a vicar, Geordie soon changes his mind. “People confess to the clergy, and that’s a really good tool to have if you’re a detective,” says Green. Geordie has had to learn to work with three different vicars over the years — Sidney (James Norton), followed by Will (Tom Brittney), and finally Alphy (Rishi Nair) — and his evolving friendship with each has formed the heart of the series.
