Back Forty Beer Company, Birmingham
The competition will be held Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Back Forty Beer Company in Birmingham – next to historic Sloss Furnaces with special guest Sean of the South and Three on a String.
Gates open at noon. Tickets are required. Lunch and music begin at noon and the awards ceremony commences at 3PM.

The entry fee is $125 payable by check. Fill out and return the form below with the check to Alabama Public Television to enter.
The Kansas City Barbeque Society meat category is pork. Pork is defined as Boston Butt, Boston Roast, Picnic, Collar (aka Cellar) and/or Whole Shoulder.

FAQ
When can participating teams arrive and get started?
The teams can start arriving at 12PM on Saturday, May 4. The meat inspectors will be present. As soon as they’re set up and their meat is inspected, they can start cooking. There will be a Cook’s Meeting at 5:00pm on Saturday.
When is the turn-in time for the competition?
Turn-in time on Sunday is 1PM.
When will the awards ceremony take place?
The awards ceremony will take place at 3PM.

Are there activities for children?
Yes, we’ll have a designated children’s area sponsored by Alabama Public Television’s Education Department with activities like cornhole, bubble blowing, coloring sheets and the chance to make Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood character masks!
