Submitting a Film to Alabama Public Television

Alabama Public Television (APT) is committed to partnerships with – and promoting the production of – amateur, student and professional filmmakers and their films and broadcasting these works. Films must demonstrate educational value and relevance to Alabama documenting the ‘Alabama’ story. They should inform, inspire and educate, and cover topics which are relevant to the cultural history of the state, its people and places.

The productions should demonstrate compelling stories which are accurate and maintain journalistic integrity (truthfulness, accuracy, objectivity, impartiality, fairness and public accountability).

They should be of superior production quality (audio, video, editing, scripting), 56:46 or 26:46 in length, and meet PBS editorial standards (PDF). All required releases, permissions, and licenses must be secured and there may be no restrictions imposed on APT for possible airing and/or sponsorship opportunities.
