Holmes Joins APT as Executive Producer

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., October 27, 2008 – Chris Holmes has joined Alabama Public Television (APT) as executive producer in its Birmingham Production and Documentary Department. Holmes, who earned four regional Emmy Awards this year for his work on the APT films “Mr. Dial Has Something to Say” and “Alabama Remembers: WWII,” has been a freelance filmmaker for the past 12 years. During that freelance career he has been involved in the production of an Oscar-nominated short film among other feature films. At APT, he will produce documentaries and original content for the statewide network. He is a graduate of Florida State University and a member of the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences. APT is currently working on the documentary “Alabama Craft Masters,” which explores art forms across the state of Alabama and highlights seven craftsmen and women, presenting how they work, why they make the objects the way they do and how their work reflects the rich heritage of Alabama.
