On Tuesday, June 3, the White House sent a proposal to Congress to immediately eliminate federal funding for public media.
That federal funding supports far more than programs — it supports emergency alerts, educational content for kids who rely on free access to learning, and the ability to tell stories that reflect this community, not just the headlines of the day. Losing this support would mean real cuts to public media services in Alabama, affecting the hundreds of thousands of people who count on us every day.
That’s why we’re asking you to act — not once, but every day — until Congress makes it clear that public media funding will be protected.
Please visit ProtectMyPublicMedia.org to contact your lawmakers. You’ll find provided templates you can use to call them today, tomorrow, and the next day until your voice is heard loud and clear: We can’t lose this critical community resource.
Thank you for standing up with us.
