SERIES INFO | DAILY SCHEDULE | PROGRAMS A-Z

Alabama Wetlands

Alabama Wetlands examines Alabama's diverse array of wetlands, from those in the mountainous northern part of the state to those along the broad floodplains and coastal marshes of the lower part of the state. Wetland ecologists discuss the scientific description of wetlands and the many environmental values that wetlands provide in supporting fish and wildlife, contributing to renewed supplies of freshwater, and buffering the effects of storms. The program also considers the need for greater actions to protect Alabama wetlands in the face of anticipated future growth and development.
