The Birmingham-Southern College (BSC) Alumni Choir presents its 89th annual performance of a Service of Lessons and Carols with a touching theme: “Forward, Ever — Always.”  The concert was recorded live at Canterbury United Methodist Church in Mountain Brook in early December.

BSC’s alumni choir has performed the Service of Lessons and Carols almost every year since 1930, and the choir has persevered in the wake of Birmingham-Southern College’s closing in May 0f 2024. The performances were something of a musical fixture in the Birmingham community, and we’ve been proud to share the choir’s concerts in 2024 and this year with BSC alumni and fans throughout the state.  The concert was produced for Alabama Public Television by Michael Hemphill (BSC ’93), whose Buzz in Birmingham series has aired on APT for several years.
