PBS Film Screening – Shelton State

Shelton State Community College is hosting a special preview screening of the PBS documentary BECOMING FREDERICK DOUGLASS in the Cafetorium of the college. This event is free and open to the students and faculty of the college as well as the public. Discover how a man born into slavery became one of the most influential voices for democracy in American history. Oscar-nominated filmmaker Stanley Nelson explores the role Douglass played in securing the right to freedom for African Americans. If you are unable to attend the preview screening, the documentary will be broadcast on Alabama Public Television on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 9:00 p.m.
