Shelton State Community College is hosting a special preview screening of the PBS documentary HARRIET TUBMAN: VISIONS OF FREEDOM in the campus Cafetorium. This event is free and open to the students and faculty of the college as well as the public. Go beyond the legend and meet the inspiring woman who repeatedly risked her own life and freedom to liberate others from slavery. Born 200 years ago in Maryland, Harriet Tubman was a conductor of the Underground Railroad, a Civil War scout, nurse and spy, and one of the greatest freedom fighters in our nation’s history. If you are unable to attend the preview screening, the documentary will be broadcast on Alabama Public Television on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 9:00 p.m.
