Right from Birth 104: The Many Worlds of Infancy

Families today are different and more varied from the families of twenty or thirty years ago. More mothers of young children are part of the workforce. There are more families that have changed because of divorce or single parenthood. All of these changes have contributed to a rise in the numbers of babies and young children who are being cared for in daycare settings. In this respect, times have changed; but what has not changed are the things parents and caregivers can do to encourage their babies’ and young children’s healthy growth and development. What infants and toddlers need in order to grow and develop their potential is still important. In this episode, those continually important needs of young children are discussed.
