Plants Behaving Badly
Upper Elementary | Middle School
Plants Behaving Badly focuses on the behavior of two groups of plants -- orchids and carnivorous plants -- which once attracted the attention of Charles Darwin and have continued to fascinate scientists for decades. The program explains the mischievous behavior of orchids, including how they deceive insects into helping them by promising sex. The program also travels from the swamps of the U.S. to remote mountain areas of South America, exploring how carnivorous plants trap insects.
