APT’s Summer and After School Learning Kit- Part 1

This interactive hands-on workshop introduces participants to the Summer and Afterschool Learning Kit, an educational kit designed for summer and afterschool professionals who work with children ages 4-8. The kit contains over 40 theme-based activity plans designed specifically to meet the needs of children in extended care programs. In addition, the kit contains DVDs containing PBS Kids programs, more than 25 children’s books, and hands-on activities cards designed to promote learning in a summer or after-school setting.

Join us we explore the lives and specific contributions of extraordinary people from Alabama. In this workshop, participants will be introduced to native Alabama leaders in a new and engaging way. KIDS and Allergies: What to Look For 

Every teacher knows that kids can be picky eaters.  Is it just the child being picky, or does the child have a food allergy or a food intolerance?  This training will identify what to look for and how to treat common food and environmental allergies.  With the help of PBS KIDS resources, this training will provide participants with materials and hands-on activities to encourage children and teachers to recognize allergic reactions and know how to deal with them.
