What is ‘I Am APT’?

Do you have a story of how Alabama Public Television/PBS has impacted your life? We would love to hear it and share it with Alabama!

“I Am APT” is a digital video series that highlights the connection between Alabamians and their favorite PBS/APT characters and personalities, and the lessons they teach. If selected, you will tell us your story while an artist draws you with your PBS character or personality of choice. At the conclusion of the story, the artist will complete the drawing and the image will blossom into full color.

Each installment of “I Am APT” will last about two minutes. The videos will premiere online but will also air during Alabama Public Television’s broadcast programming on TV.

Ready to Share Your Story?

As a subject in the “I Am APT” digital series, there are a couple of things that you should be aware of.

Prior to recording the audio for the video, you will virtually meet with an APT producer to discuss your story and how the PBS figure of choice will be incorporated into the story.

To record the audio portion of the video, the subject will join their APT producer on a Zoom call. The APT producer will ask a series of questions to help highlight the connection between the subject and their PBS character or personality of choice.

Each subject will also need to provide a high-resolution image of themselves. This image is what our artist will use to base their drawing on.

If selected to participate in the “I Am APT” digital series, you will receive a framed print of your drawing and one year of APT Passport. This is our way of saying thank you for your continued support of APT.
