Tuskegee Airmen 80 Years

APT celebrates the 80th anniversary of the Tuskegee Airmen Friday with a segment on Capitol Journal followed by a special program featuring interviews with three pilots.

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the Tuskegee Airmen, the famous African American pilots who trained at airfields around Tuskegee and played a vital role in the air war against Nazi Germany. Friday night on CAPITOL JOURNAL, we’ll remember this important piece of Alabama history and the men who helped change America’s segregated military.  Then stay with us for Finding World War Two: Tuskegee Airmen, featuring interviews with three remarkable Tuskegee veterans: 97-year-old Daniel Keel, 96-year-old Richard Hall, and 94-year-old George Hardy.
