Birmingham Transmitter Update

Antenna replacement for APT's Birmingham area transmitter was completed Sunday and it will be back on air sometime Tuesday.

MONDAY, JAN. 16 UPDATE

A new antenna is being installed for Alabama Public Television's Birmingham transmitter, WBIQ Channel 10, that will better serve residents in the Birmingham viewing area. The antenna is now in place, and Channel 10 will resume operations sometime on Tuesday.

The new antenna for WBIQ Channel 10 should improve reception for everyone who watches the channel. Obviously, however, the work schedule meant that Birmingham-area viewers who rely on channel 10 missed some of their favorite programs this weekend, including the second episodes of four brand new Sunday night dramas.  APT will repeat Sunday's Hope Street, Miss Scarlet and the Duke, All Creatures Great and Small and Vienna Blood programs on Sunday afternoon, January 22, between 2:00pm and 6:00pm.

There are other ways to watch APT in Birmingham. All four of APT's broadcast channels are always available via our website.  Livestream APT HD, PBS Kids, Create and World Channel online.   APT's main channel can also always be livestreamed from PBS.org and the PBS Video App. You can also watch all PBS programs on-demand for at least a week after their broadcast through these websites and apps.
