Shuttlesworth Super Teacher Workshop

APT teams with Alabama Humanities Alliance for Oct. 15th educational event focusing on Rev. Fred Shuttlesworth.

Saturday, Oct. 15 at Bethel Baptist Church

Fred Shuttlesworth was the fulcrum of the civil rights movement in Birmingham — and a frequent KKK target for his freedom-fighting. The Alabama Humanities Alliance presents a Super Teacher workshop on Oct. 15th that  will examine Shuttlesworth's authentic, "actionist" style of leadership, featuring lead scholar David Holmes, Ph.D., dean of Liberal Arts & Sciences at Lipscomb University in Nashville.  Participants will also get sneak peeks of the new Alabama Public Television documentary, SHUTTLESWORTH.

Teacher benefits:
- Continuing education credits (3)
- $50 stipend + refreshments
- Copies of "A Fire You Can’t Put Out" by Andrew Manis and "Where the Sacred and Secular Harmonize" by David Holmes

Alabama Public Television's feature-length documentary SHUTTLESWORTH premieres in December.
