PREMIERES THURSDAY FEBRUARY 13 at 8 PM
NOBODY REALLY KNOWS ME follows the story of guitarist and musician Wayne Perkins, who traveled the world creating music with some of the biggest names in the music industry. From a family of musicians, Wayne began his music career early, leaving his family at the ripe age of 16 to pursue a career in music. Starting in the recording capital of Alabama, Muscle Shoals proved to create many opportunities for him. The Muscle Shoals Sound Studios, where artists like Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan, and the Rolling Stones recorded their music, was where Wayne began work in his earlier years, and he returned after many tours as well to record with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Johnny Prine, and Albert King.
Featuring interviews with past collaborators and special guests, NOBODY REALLY KNOWS ME gives an inside look into Perkin’s impact on the music industry and those that became successful from his musical talent. These include figures like Joni Mitchell, Keith Richards, Jackson Browne, Wayne’s brother Dale, David Hood and Spooner Odom of the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, and Chuck Leavell of Allman Brothers, Sea Level, and The Rolling Stones.
To hear about Wayne’s whole story from him and many others, watch NOBODY REALLY KNOWS ME on Alabama Public Television on February 13 at 8 PM.
