IT'S A NEW WAY TO WATCH!
Alabama Public Television is now streaming its main channel, WORLD channel, and PBS KIDS! live and free of charge to all Alabamians online. The Livestream of APT’s channels comes as a part of continued efforts to better serve Alabama students learning at home and their families during the COVID pandemic. The livestream is available on APT’s website, APT App and the PBS Video App.
Thousands of viewers watch APT and PBS programs online regularly - and the number has greatly increased during the coronavirus pandemic. Livestreaming of our main channel has been available since April as part of APT's service to schools, but only during the day. Now you can watch APT and the WORLD channel 24 hours a day on your computer, tablet or phone.
This school year, APT is providing educational programming on three of our four channels. Broadcast programming for pre-K through fifth grade students, organized around weekly themes, will be offered daily on APT’s main channel and PBS Kids channel. A five-hour learning block designed for students in grades 6-12 will be available from 11 AM-4 PM Monday through Friday on APT’s WORLD channel. The block includes content in social studies, science/engineering and English Language Arts.
Livestreaming of APT channels is restricted to the coverage area of APT's transmitters. You may need to "allow location" on your browser to receive the stream. Troubleshooting tips are available alongside the streams.
If you have questions or problems accessing APT's livestreams, send us a note or call 1-800-239-5233 ext. 145. We can also help with questions about APT's transmitters and how to receive APT broadcasts over the air, as well as any other issues you may have.
