Huntsville Transmitter Work

APT's Huntsville area transmitter, WHIQ Channel 25, will be off-air for antenna replacement work some hours in the coming week.

A tower crew will be replacing the antenna for Alabama Public Television's Huntsville area transmitter beginning on August 3. Work is expected to take about a week, depending on the weather, and will require us to power down the transmitter for several hours at a time during the upcoming week. We're sorry for the disruption this replacement will cause, but the new antenna will provide improved service to the Huntsville area for many years to come.

Just as a reminder, when any of our transmitters is down due to maintenance work or any other reason, it is POSSIBLE to livestream APT broadcasts here on the WATCH page, or on the free PBS App, available for phones, tablets, smart televisions, and on Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple TV and Chromecast.
