Huntsville Transmitter Update

APT's Huntsville area transmitter, WHIQ Channel 25, will be off-air for antenna replacement until midafternoon Friday.

UPDATE: We are happy to report that the new antenna install is complete and WHIQ is back on the air and better than ever. Thank you all for your patience.

The antenna replacement work on APT's Huntsville area transmitter is taking longer than expected due to rain and severe weather. The transmitter is now off the air and is expected to remain off the air until midafternoon on Friday, August 18. We're sorry for the disruption this replacement is causing, but the new antenna will provide improved service to the Huntsville area for many years to come.

Just as a reminder, when any of our transmitters is down due to maintenance work or any other reason, it is POSSIBLE to livestream APT broadcasts here on the WATCH page, or on the free PBS App, available for phones, tablets, smart televisions, and on Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple TV and Chromecast.
