All Creatures Season 2 Marathon

Return to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales on Sunday as we conclude our All Creatures Season 2 marathon.

The tremendously popular MASTERPIECE adaptation of All Creatures Great and Small returns to Alabama Public Television again on Sunday, giving viewers another chance to enjoy this charming drama of rural life in England and setting the stage for a summer filled with great drama!

The climax of season one saw Helen Alderson (Academy Award-winner Rachel Shenton) call off her impending wedding to wealthy landowner Hugh Hulton, having developed a close friendship with James Herrriot, played by Nicholas Ralph. Last week we followed James' return from Glasgow where he has been visiting his parents for Easter and his tough decision about whether he should return to Scotland and a promising new job or stay in Yorkshire. Helen definitely has some thoughts about that. Join us for the remaining three episodes - and James' final decision - on Sunday.

ENDEAVOUR SEASON 8

Endeavour Season 8On the following Sunday, June 19, join APT at 8:00pm for the kick-off of Endeavour on Masterpiece Season 8. Shaun Evans reprises his role as DS Endeavour Morse, alongside Roger Allam as DCI Fred Thursday for a new set of compelling cases written and created by Russell Lewis.  All three new episodes will be available beginning June 19 on Passport, and you can catch up on previous seasons of Endeavour as well!

In Season 8, set in 1971, our heroes investigate suspected IRA retaliations, the murder of a
local cab driver, and the peculiar killing of a college fellow which results in
putting one of their own in imminent danger. As Endeavour shows signs of a
struggle with his inner demons, the team wonders if he is beyond the point
of no return.

HOTEL PORTOFINO

Hotel PortofinoALSO PREMIERING on June 19 at 7:00pm  is a brand new drama for public television, HOTEL PORTOFINO. Set in the breathtakingly beautiful resort town of Portofino, Italy, the six-part drama follows an elite yet dysfunctional British family who open a hotel for upper-class travelers  during the Roaring ‘20s. Charming characters from different walks of life mingle in an exhilarating cocktail of romance, glamour and mystery.

In the opening chapter, Hotel Portofino opens its doors to guests around the world, including the imperious Lady Latchmere who is hard to please. Bella Ainsworth, co-proprietor with her husband Cecil and the moving spirit behind the hotel, uses resources, energy and focus to meet hotel demands, while tending to her war-wounded son Lucian and her widowed daughter Alice . Bella quickly finds herself targeted by a scheming local politician, Signor Danioni, who threatens her with extortion.

COMING IN JULY

The drama continues in July with season 7 of Grantchester on Masterpiece taking Endeavour's place at 8:00pm  and season 2 of the BBC thriller COBRA at 9:00pm starting July 10. You'll find additional dramas appearing on Passport this summer as well.  These include Jamaica Inn premiering June 1, Kidnap and Ransom coming July 14, and season 4 of Thou Shalt Not Kill starting July 28.  Also returning to Passport in June is Mr. Selfridge.
