Alabama Public Television welcomes aspiring young writers to enter the all-new PBS KIDS GO! Writers Contest, similar to the popular Reading Rainbow contest in years past. Children in kindergarten through third grade are encouraged to write and illustrate stories and submit them to Alabama Public Television.

Statewide winners will be selected for each grade level and prizes will be awarded at the Alabama Book Festival on April 17, 2010 prior to a catered lunch at the historic Young House in Montgomery. State First Place winners will then advance to the national level of the contest where a renowned panel of judges will select the national winners. National winners will be announced and national prizes will be awarded in summer 2010.
