Grateful Dead - Dead Ahead; the

DAILY SCHEDULE | PROGRAMS A-Z

Filmed in October 1980 in Radio City Music Hall, the luminous performances on DEAD AHEAD captured the band at a moment of transformation. These concerts were the culmination of a month-long musical odyssey in San Francisco and New York City during which the band stretched the boundaries of more than 100 songs, from “Lost Sailor” to jug-band tunes, such as “Monkey and the Engineer,” played in coffeehouses. Performances include “Fire on the Mountain,” “Ripple,” “Bird Song” and “On the Road Again.”
