PLU Testimonials

The goal of the ACCRS implementation course is that administrators will develop an accurate, deep understanding of ACCRS (Common Core)and will finish the course with a useful plan for implementing ACCRS. The course started Sept. 30 and will last 6 weeks. Here is a sample of what we've heard from participants in the course:

“I have to be honest, before starting this PLU, I really knew very little about common core. It is kind of a light bulb turning on when you think about it and you understand why we have changed the way we do things...” (KW, Tuscaloosa)

“Ok. So every teacher in the state needs to be made to read all of this material. I feel SO much better about ACCRS!” (KS, Mobile)

“I am so excited to be a part of this PLU. My dissertation was in full force when the Common Core Standards had come to surface. Some the research [presented in this course] is a part of my literature review.” (VW, GA Resident holding an Alabama administrative certificate)

“I have REALLY enjoyed this course so far! I implemented the survey with our faculty this week and have already met with administrators to discuss how we are going to fill in some of the "holes" we are seeing…!” (Background note: course participants were required to survey their faculty to determine what teachers know/don’t know about ACCRS. Several have said that for the first time their school leaders are getting a grasp on forming a plan for ACCRS transition & implementation.
