The Alabama Commission on Higher Education (ACHE)is responsible for the planning and coordination of higher education in the state. The 12 member board also runs various student aid programs and works to make sure resources provide the best educational opportunities for students. Gregory Fitch, Ph.D. has been Executive Director of ACHE since June of last year. Fitch has held positions in Missouri, Utah and Idaho. Recently ACHE has been working with the Department of Post Secondary Education to find a way to deal with institutions offering questionable degrees at high prices. Fitch will discuss how they hope to deal with this situation and other issues involving higher education on Face To Face.
