It’s important to note that Sloss was never a steel mill, despite it’s long operation by Sloss-Sheffield Steel and Iron Company. Infact, the decision to focus only on so called “Pig Iron” is partly credited for Sloss’ longevity.

Sloss Metal Arts at Kentuck

Sloss Metal Arts engages the community in everything from on site workshops
and demo pours to “road pours” where they travel to places and events like the
Kentuck Festival of the Arts in Northport, AL. These are a few photos from the
Kentuck festival held in October, 2009
