Team Comparing Castles
This fellowship will extend learning through the exploration of Ireland Castles using Periscope for online access. We will document exterior structures of the castles, the location in regards to markets and towns, the interior spatial design and the history around construction time frames to compare to our Alabama Castle Unit for student access.

Investigate theatre pedagogy and train in physical acting through a five-day Theatre Pedagogy Workshop, then explore the inner workings of professional theatre in New York. This training will develop students' understanding of the body/mind link and will better prepare them for possible careers and professional applications of theatre.

Explore the origins of the British and American women’s suffrage movements by traveling to key historic locations and, by participating in devised theatre workshops at London’s Theatre Complicite, to better guide students as they create an original, collaborative play about the struggle for women’s voting rights.

Become a novice archaeologist for a two-week dig of the Roman fort at Vindolanda, along Hadrian's Wall, in Northern England to gain hands-on experience in the field of archaeology and to deepen my knowledge of ancient Roman society along the frontier of the empire and to explore the use of walls in dividing societies.

Explore the relationship between the Gulf Oil Spill and the economic and environmental effects in the region and establish a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) unit to design, test and revise solutions for cleaning a polluted environment.

Bridgeport Middle
Explore the ecological, historical and cultural aspects of five diverse and fragile ecosystems within the state of California to create a unit on environmental stewardship.
 
Julie McGowan  Science
Albertville Elementary
Embark on a journey to 6 U.S. National Parks to document by photo and video the natural landforms at each. The focus being to show the relationship between land and water and how each impacts the other. The documentation will provide invaluable background knowledge to students that do not have the opportunity to experience these places first hand.
