A FREE, live electronic field trip for 5th – 8th grade students
Experience as never before one of the most architecturally impressive and symbolically important buildings in the world!
Join student reporters as they uncover the history, art and architecture that define America’s living symbol of democracy and freedom. Enjoy special behind-the-scenes access as students explore the famous Rotunda and its historical paintings; dig into the archives to discover the history of the Capitol building; and learn more about the legislative branch of our federal government housed in this storied building.
Interact with the experts! Students will be able to submit video and text questions and vote on their favorite questions to be answered live during the program. In addition, they will be able to use computers, smart phones or Twitter to respond to poll questions during the program. After registering, you’ll receive information on how your students can submit questions.
While the content of this field trip targets students in 5th -8th grade, it is appropriate for any K-12 student.
